Agate Healthcare Services grew from my experience caring for my husband, Mustapha. He was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and for much of his illness, I did not know what caregiving resources were available or where to turn for support. By the time I found help, his disease had progressed and his care needs had become more complex.

Unfortunately, receiving help did not always bring the relief I expected. We experienced a revolving door of caregivers, and every change meant starting over—explaining Mustapha’s needs, demonstrating his routines, and rebuilding trust. I often found myself training the very people who had come to help. What I needed was more than someone who was available; I needed a knowledgeable, dependable caregiver who could step in with the skills and experience to care for him with minimal direction.

I created Agate Healthcare Services to give other individuals and families the experience I wish we had received from the beginning: helpful information, thoughtful referrals, clear communication, and responsive support. Today, my team and I carry that purpose forward, helping families feel more informed, supported, and confident as they search for care.
